Our Project Management Department in Delft is looking for a hands-on, motivated Assistant Project Manager to take charge of critical work packages and help drive successful execution across our offshore projects.

Job Description

  • Act as the primary point of contact for your work packages with clients, authorities and subcontractors.
  • Plan and manage your work packages in line with the overall project execution plan.
  • Coordinate all activities needed to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary support team in collaboration with the Project Manager and discipline leads.
  • Ensure seamless transitions between project phases and smooth handovers.
  • Drive a strong safety culture and ensure exceptional HSE performance.
  • Review and approve technical documents, procurement packages, and project deliverables.
  • Contribute to accurate internal and external cost and progress reporting.
  • Identify and manage contract changes, concessions, and variation orders from all relevant perspectives (technical, schedule, commercial).
  • Supervise the development of as-built documentation and project close-out reports.
  • Share knowledge and best practices to enhance client satisfaction and team performance.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the Project Management Department.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor or Master in Civil, Mechanical, Offshore Engineering, Economics or Commerce, with a strong affinity for technical environments.
  • 3–5 years of relevant project experience in a technical or engineering environment, preferably involving large-scale or complex operations.
  • Proven experience in project coordination or as an assistant project manager.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills; able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Basic understanding of contractual matters and a keen interest in developing negotiation and commercial skills.
  • Comfortable working in multidisciplinary teams and across different project phases.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Proactive, hands-on mentality with a sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Willingness to travel and occasionally work offshore.
