Within Allseas at Delft, Capital Projects is the department to successfully execute large or complex internal investment projects in the offshore industry. We now have a great opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to join our team of project managers, either to support in-house developments and vessel upgrades for pipelay activities or to join the platform preparations team, responsible for executing preparation activities on platform topsides or jackets prior to a heavy lift operation.

Job Description
The Assistant Project Manager generally manages one or more work packages in compliance with the applicable management systems and governing rules and regulations in such a way that these are delivered on time and within budget, to the required operational, quality and HSE standards and, most importantly, to the satisfaction of the internal client. In general, the Assistant Project Manager co-ordinates the project preparation and execution effort of (some of) the supporting internal disciplines and manages subcontractors or suppliers that deliver goods or services required for the project.
The current projects for this opportunity are related to:
- Managing work packages and subcontracts for the Solitaire Double Joint Factory upgrade;
- Supporting the platform preparation team, which closely collaborates with commercial projects and external clients.
Job specific tasks:
- Project control: Manage cost, discipline man-hours and vessel day budgets for the assigned work package(s), and adequately forecast until end of project and ensure the forecast remains current;
- Procurement process: Responsible for subcontracting and procurement process (including Requisitions, Purchase Orders, contracts, etc);
- Subcontract management: Direct contact with suppliers and subcontractors of equipment, materials and engineering services;
- Project organisation: Monitor internal disciplines and agile teams and control subcontractors or suppliers so that agreed objectives are met, instil ownership and accountability of internal disciplines and suppliers;
- Implement optimisations: Identify and implement process, strategy and administrative optimisations to facilitate the work of (Senior) Project Managers;
- Scope of work: On-board and on-site work preparations such as installation (subcontractor management);
- Safe performance: Ensure outstanding project safety performance;
- Acts on behalf of the (Senior) Project Manager when authorised.
Education & Experience
The candidate we are looking for is organised, has a hands-on attitude, is a good communicator and able to develop and maintain constructive relationships both internally and with external parties. You are self-motivated and have experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.
Besides this, you have:
- BSc or MSc degree in Civil / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, preferably with additional relevant technical and managerial training;
- 5 to 10 years' experience preferable in Oil and Gas or Offshore construction;
- Experience in HSE Management, Project Management, Negotiating and Contract management are preferable;
- Good command of the English language, both written and spoken;
- Willingness to travel and be offshore a couple of weeks a year if required.
