About Allseas
Division Description
Department Description
At Allseas, we develop innovative solutions that help shape the future of offshore energy. From offshore pipeline installation to complex offshore construction projects, our teams work on some of the industry's most challenging engineering projects. To support our growing portfolio, we are looking for a CAD Engineer to join our Pipeline Engineering team.
In this role, you will work closely with engineers and fellow CAD specialists to create detailed models and technical drawings that support the design, fabrication, and offshore execution of our projects. Your work will directly contribute to the safe and efficient delivery of pioneering offshore operations worldwide.

Discipline Description
Job Description
As a CAD Engineer, you do more than translate engineering concepts into accurate drawings and models. You take ownership of your work, plan your own workload and actively coordinate priorities and progress with the engineers and other stakeholders around you.
You look beyond what is shown on paper and consider how a design will work in practice. Can it actually be fabricated? Is there sufficient access for welding, assembly and installation? Will the design create practical challenges during fabrication or offshore execution? You identify these issues early, discuss them with the engineering team and contribute ideas and solutions.
What are the responsibilities of a CAD Engineer - Pipeline?
- Create and check detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for our pipeline projects;
- Translate engineering concepts and calculations into clear, accurate and practical drawings;
- Assess designs with a practical mindset, considering fabrication, welding, assembly, installation and offshore execution;
- Identify potential technical or practical obstacles and proactively discuss solutions with engineers and other disciplines;
- Coordinate closely with Pipeline Engineers, other CAD Engineers, fabrication teams, Document Control and other stakeholders;
- Proactively communicate progress, priorities, technical challenges and potential delays rather than waiting for follow-up;
- Ensure drawings and models comply with relevant quality standards, specifications and procedures;
- Contribute to improvements in CAD standards, working methods and engineering processes;
- When required, support fabrication, construction or offshore activities and use the feedback from execution to improve future designs.
Education & Experience
You are a hands-on CAD Engineer who combines technical drawing skills with practical thinking. You take initiative, seek out the information you need and communicate when priorities, requirements or technical details are unclear. At the same time, you enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team and are comfortable challenging a design when you see a better or more practical solution.
Most importantly, you look beyond the drawing itself. You understand that a technically correct design still needs to be fabricated and installed in the real world, and you take that practical reality into account in your work.
What do we expect from a CAD Engineer - Pipeline?
- A secondary vocational (MBO) or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, CAD Engineering or a comparable technical discipline, or relevant experience in the field;
- A first experience with technical drawing and 3D modelling in an engineering environment;
- A proactive approach and the ability to organise and plan your own workload;
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to raise questions, concerns and improvement opportunities;
- A practical, solution-oriented mindset with an eye for constructability and execution;
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineers and other disciplines;
- A critical eye for detail, quality and technical feasibility.
