We are developing a 25MWe high-temperature gas cooled SMR to create power on board of large offshore vessels and power and heat for on-land. Nuclear power is clean, reliable and enables refuelling cycles of years. This will be a game-changer for the maritime industry and energy intensive industry.

Job Description
As Commercial Manager, you will be a key member of the multidisciplinary nuclear team within the Innovations Department. You will work closely with the project manager and other technical, regulatory, and strategic specialists to drive the commercial development of our Small Modular Reactor (SMR) program.
Your responsibilities
- Market development: Continuously assess both the on-land and maritime/offshore markets for SMR deployment through quantitative and qualitative analyses. Identify trends, opportunities, and competitive dynamics
- Client engagement: Build and maintain relationships with prospective clients. Capture their requirements and translate these into clear feedback for the design and engineering teams to ensure solutions meet market needs
- Business development: Lead outreach activities and develop agreements with future clients, including negotiating terms that support long-term partnerships
- Strategic supply chain development: Secure critical supplies and partnerships for the SMR program by managing tender processes, supplier selection, and contract negotiations. Ensure that long-lead items and services are strategically contracted in advance
- Commercial leadership: Support overall business planning, contribute to the commercial strategy, and provide insights that guide investment and development decisions.
Education & Experience
- University degree (BSc/MSc) in a relevant technical discipline (e.g. engineering, physics, chemistry).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to translate complex information into actionable insights.
- Proven experience in business development and client engagement, ideally in complex technical or energy-related sectors.
- Demonstrated track record in the formation, negotiation, and management of major contracts.
- Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to operate effectively at the interface of technology development, regulation, and commercial deployment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a strong command of written and spoken English.
- Willingness to travel (domestically and internationally) as required by the role.
- Understanding of the nuclear, maritime or energy sector is an advantage.
