At Allseas, a global leader in offshore engineering, you’ll join our Project Planning & Cost Control Department in Delft as a Junior Project Cost Controller with at least one year of relevant experience. In this role, you will work closely with experienced colleagues to support the financial management of complex offshore projects while developing your expertise in project cost control.

Job Description

As a Junior Project Cost Controller, you support 3 to 6 projects (heavy lift or pipelay) as the ‘financial conscience’ of the project team. Your responsibilities include setting up, reporting, analysing, and forecasting project results, as well as managing cost-related changes.

We continuously improve our cost control practices by standardising, simplifying, and automating financial reporting systems and processes. You will spend part of your time enhancing these practices and supporting the company’s digital transformation, including the integration of our new SAP ERP system. While working on specific projects, you also report to the respective Project Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day financial and administrative support to project teams.
  • Assist in preparing monthly forecasts of expected costs and revenues.
  • Analyse and explain variances from the project budget.
  • Prepare data for monthly cash flow overviews for the Treasurer.
  • Support the Project Manager with Variation Order Requests and Internal Budget Revisions.
  • Assist in timely and accurate invoicing and follow-up on outstanding receivables.
  • Contribute to financial reporting and project close-out activities.
  • Support improvements to project control processes and cost reporting tools.
  • Assist with implementing and using the new SAP ERP system.
  • Assist other cost controllers, ensuring in a standard way working/reporting, regarding client invoicing, cost and cash flow reporting and setting up projects in the financial system.

Education & Experience

  • BSc or MSc degree in Finance, (Technical) Business Administration, or a similar field.
  • Basic knowledge of project cost control methods and techniques (e.g., through work experience or internships).
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience, preferably in a project-driven or technical environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Experience with ERP software is a plus.
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
