Department Description
Allseas’ Pipeline Production Department (PPD) consists of five units: Welding and Materials Engineering, NDT Engineering, Coating Engineering, Equipment Engineering and Production Engineering. The department is responsible for the development, qualification and implementation of pipelay Welding-, NDT and Field Joint Coating (FJC) procedures in line with the agreed client specifications.
Next to the activities related to the pipelay projects, the PPD is involved in the construction of structures, modifications and repair of vessels and platform preparations for heavy lifting by means of the development and verification of welding-, NDT- and coating procedures.

Job Description
The Material Engineers optimise material properties for the applicable processes relevant to our Company.
Tasks:
- Give support to all Allseas’ departments on permanent material engineering and coating related matters for Commercial Pipelay and Heavy Lift Projects, and for internal Capital Projects;
- Review material specifications from the Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents and prepare qualifications or clarifications when required and appropriate;
- Prepare technical documents to allow the responsible department to go out for tenders or quotations for Allseas’ investments or within Commercial Projects’ scopes;
- Follow up on submissions from possible suppliers, seeking qualifications or clarifications when required;
- Provide commercial assistance to the Proposals and Procurement Departments;
- Provide technical support during the negotiations with clients, subcontractors and suppliers;
- Advise all applicable internal clients on all matters associated with materials including coatings;
- Ensure quality of delivered materials and fabrication;
- Advise on potential improvements and developments for Allseas on job-related aspects;
Education & Experience
- MSc/BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in a similar position, preferably in an offshore environment;
- Good command of the English language, both written and spoken;
- Willingness to travel;
