Job Description

As a Medior Software Engineer in the Digital Applications team, you’ll help design, develop, and deploy resilient cloud-native applications that enhance Allseas’ offshore operations.

In close collaboration with cross-functional teams, you’ll leverage data from IoT devices, user input, and core systems to build smart, scalable tools that support performance and automation across our fleet.

You’ll focus on seamless integration with existing systems while exploring new ways to advance digital capabilities in the field. To succeed in this role, you bring a proactive, solution-driven mindset and a strong grasp of software architecture and complex systems. Your contributions will directly support Allseas’ mission to lead in offshore innovation.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to engineering software projects from concept to deployment, ensuring technical quality and alignment with system requirements.
  • Design software architecture for cloud-native applications, both on-premise and at the edge, to boost efficiency and unlock new capabilities.
  • Build and maintain microservices using Python, Go, and React, applying clean code principles and domain-driven design.
  • Monitor, profile, and troubleshoot live services using dashboards, metrics, and centralized logging; respond proactively to incidents and bugs.
  • Write and maintain unit, integration, and contract tests to ensure service quality, performance, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and stakeholders, contributing to a culture of innovation, high standards, and continuous improvement.

Education & Experience

  • At least 1.5 years of hands-on experience in software development, with an interest in event-driven and cloud-native architectures.
  • Strong command of English, both written and verbal.
  • Curious and eager to learn, with a willingness to experiment, make mistakes, and grow through iteration.
  • Collaborative mindset with a broad interest in technology and engineering.
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following: Python, Go, SQL, or C#.

Additional points

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices such as CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitLab.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, heavy equipment, production, or maritime environments is a strong plus.
