The role of the pre-commissioning engineer falls within the Pipeline Engineering Department, a division of the Allseas organization. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and providing support for offshore pipelay campaigns. Your involvement spans from the proposal phase to the actual installation and pre-commissioning of pipelines.

 

The Pipeline Engineering department operates through collaboration among multiple disciplines, with each contributing to achieve the project goals as a unified team. The department encompasses various fields, including design, structural engineering, installation, testing, and field engineering. Within the project organization, pipeline engineers work in multidisciplinary teams, allowing individuals to benefit from knowledge sharing while gaining a comprehensive understanding of project preparations, engineering, and execution.

Job Description

We are currently seeking a medior/senior Pipeline Testing (Pre-commissioning) Engineer to join our Pipeline Engineering Department in Delft, the Netherlands. Your daily responsibilities will involve preparing and executing pipeline pre-commissioning activities. This includes analyzing specifications, developing procedures, procuring pre-commissioning-related items, providing advice to project teams regarding pipeline head design, and supervising offshore operations.

 

Allseas possesses its own testing equipment, and depending on the project, we will utilize this equipment for the work. As a pre-commissioning engineer, you will be in charge of operating this equipment. This role will require you to demonstrate good communication skills and resourcefulness in ensuring the safe, sustainable, and cost-effective execution of tasks.

 

Depending on the project, Allseas may also subcontract the pre-commissioning work. In such cases, you will be responsible for setting up an Invitation to Tender (ITT), evaluating bids, and overseeing the subcontractor's activities during offshore execution. Other responsibilities within this role include coordinating relevant interfaces, engaging in research and development, contributing to business development, and making improvements to engineering departmental standards, methods, and guidelines.

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Offshore / Mechanical / Hydraulic Engineering or similar.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in pipeline pre-commissioning related work.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to work offshore occasionally.
