As part of the Survey department in the Delft office you will support our project teams on all survey activities. The project surveyor is responsibility for surface and subsea positioning as well as hydrographic survey activities for a variety of different offshore construction projects. These projects are very diverse, involving ROV surveys from shallow to deep water (even 3,000+ meters).

Job Description

The Project Surveyor supports our project teams to provide accurate seabed and subsea infrastructure mapping. You will be responsibility for surface and subsea positioning as well as hydrographic survey activities for a wide range of offshore construction projects. You will work closely with the offshore survey teams, subcontractors and the operations department to ensure that survey activities are properly prepared, executed and delivered in line with contractual requirements.

 

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the tender phase by reviewing survey-related contract documents and providing input on qualifications, clarifications, methodologies, resources, schedules and pricing
  • Preparing detailed survey procedures, clearly defining activities, required resources and deliverables
  • Ensuring survey hardware & software resources are available and properly planned for vessels
  • Advising project teams and the Operations Department on survey project-related matters
  • Supervising, reviewing and approving survey deliverables
  • Providing guidance and technical support to the offshore survey teams.
  • Ensuring the survey works are performed in compliance with contract and project procedures
  • Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of survey-related processes and management systems

Education & Experience

In order to be successfull in the position of Project Surveyor, you should recognize yourself in most of the following requirements:

  • MSc or BSc degree in Hydrography (CAT A), Geomatics, Geodesy, Geophysics, Survey Engineering or sufficiently gained through experience in a comparable role in a similar field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in offshore construction for survey related activities on project management level.
  • Good understanding of survey hardware, software, methodologies, techniques including but not limited to surface/subsea positioning accuracies and quality of survey sensor data.
  • Basic knowledge an affinity for GIS software and data processing
  • Expertise in accurate seabed and subsea infrastructure mapping.
  • Good command of the English language, verbally and in written.
