Division Description
Working offshore on one of our vessels means that you are at the heart of the action and taking an active part in shaping the future of the offshore industry. Our offshore crew members are dedicated and determined to get the job done efficiently without losing sight of safety.
The marine crew comprises three main teams: nautical, technical and catering. The nautical crew is responsible for sailing the vessel; the technical crew (engineers and mechanics) maintains the installations and equipment on board such as the main engines and electrical plant; the catering crew (cooks and stewards) provides catering and cleaning related services for all crew on board.

Job Description
As Safety Officer, you provide proactive HSE guidance and operational support both prior to and during onboard activities. You advise and coach crew and management on the correct application of the Allseas HSE Management System and ensure that operations are executed safely and in compliance with company and client requirements.
Depending on vessel size and project scope, you may work independently or under the supervision of a Senior Safety Officer. You are a visible presence on board and act as a key point of contact for all HSE matters.
Your responsibilities include:
- Advising the Vessel Management Team on health, safety and environmental matters
- Promoting and monitoring compliance with the Allseas Integrated Management System (AIMS)
- Reviewing and implementing client- and project-specific HSE requirements
- Supporting and facilitating Work Risk Assessments (WRAs) and effective toolbox talks
- Conducting safety rounds and coaching personnel on safe working practices
- Ensuring correct application of the Permit to Work system
- Reporting, investigating and analysing HSE incidents, including root cause analysis
- Delivering onboard HSE training and safety briefings
- Supporting or performing Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) duties when required
- Maintaining accurate HSE records and documentation
You have the authority to Stop the Job whenever safety or compliance is at risk, in line with AIMS.
Qualifications & Experience
To succeed as Safety Officer at Allseas, you bring a professional, proactive and engaging approach to safety. You combine strong technical HSE knowledge with the ability to positively influence behaviour on board.
You also have:
- Compliance with all applicable STCW certification requirements
- A recognised NEBOSH certificate or equivalent diploma in safety management
- At least 2 years of offshore HSE experience, or equivalent onshore safety experience
- Experience with behaviour‑based safety programmes and delivering HSE training
- Good knowledge of MS Office
- English proficiency at B1 level (spoken and written)
- Strong communication skills, analytical ability and a results‑oriented mindset
Certifications
- Medical certificate (or equivalent)
- Offshore survival
- BOSIET (INCL. CA-EBS)
