Division Description

Allseas is looking for an experienced Installation Engineer with strong expertise in deepwater umbilical installation to act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a major offshore project. In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation and execution of complex umbilical installation activities, providing expert input throughout the engineering phase and supporting offshore operations when required. The position is primarily office‑based in Delft, combined with mobilization support in Europe and offshore deployment during execution.

Job Description

As Umbilical Installation SME, you will:

• Prepare installation analyses, calculations and installation procedures for load‑out, trans‑spooling and deepwater umbilical installation.
• Act as the technical expert on multi‑tube umbilicals, vertical lay systems (VLS) and umbilical vertical connector systems.
• Perform and review OrcaFlex modelling and translate outcomes into practical installation methods.
• Provide lessons learned and best practices to the project and engineering teams.
• Support ITT processes for installation equipment, such as carousels, loading towers, deflectors and routing systems.
• Define and optimise the most practical deck layout for umbilical installation activities on the Offshore Construction vessel Oceanic.
• Contribute to umbilical testing activities, including intermediate testing phases.
• Support offshore installation activities as required, acting as Field Engineer or Construction Supervisor during execution.
• Represent Allseas as the recognised Umbilical SME towards the client, including presentation and technical alignment with the client Reliance.

Project & location

• Assignment period: May 2026 – April 2028.
• Location: Predominantly based at the Allseas office in Delft.
• Travel: Support during mobilisation in Europe and offshore installation activities in India.
• Offshore campaign: Expected around Q4 2027 – Q1 2028.
  
  

This role offers the opportunity to work on a technically complex deepwater project while playing a key role as Allseas’ umbilical expert within a highly specialised engineering environment

Education & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in deepwater installation engineering of multi‑tube umbilicals.
• Proven experience with Vertical Lay Systems (VLS).
• Strong expertise in OrcaFlex modelling.
• Solid understanding of umbilical installation equipment, procedures and offshore operations.
• Offshore experience and willingness to support installation campaigns offshore.
• Ability to operate as a trusted technical authority and client‑facing SME.
• Clear communication skills and a practical, solution‑oriented mindset.
