Job Description
Within the Naval department, you will develop software that plays a critical role in offshore operations. From translating complex weather data into actionable insights, to supporting ballast operations, assess engineering limits of pipelay and heavy lift systems with real-time software, and automating engineering workflows, you’ll work at the intersection of software and engineering. You’ll collaborate closely with naval architects, software engineers and offshore crew, ensuring your solutions are both technically sound and practically usable.
What are you going to do?
- Develop and maintain software systems to solve real-world engineering challenges
- Build optimisation and decision-support tools to improve operational efficiency
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams on offshore projects, with opportunities to go onboard vessels to support operations and see your software in action.
- Translate stakeholder needs into practical digital solutions and communicate results clearly.
Education & Experience
- You have a technical education on a MSc/BSc level (computer science, maritime engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent);
- You have a software background with an interest in engineering, or vice versa;
- You have experience with Python and React/Next.js or equivalent and/or are willing to learn.
