Division Description
Department Description
The Heavy Lift department is responsible for the concept, basic and detailed engineering phases of topside and jacket installations and removals of up to 60,000 tonnes for both the oil & gas and renewables industries. The department brings together a creative, multidisciplinary team of Heavy Lift Engineers, Structural Engineers, Naval Engineers and Draftsmen.
With the North Sea rapidly transforming, driven by large-scale decommissioning of aging oil and gas platforms and the expansion of offshore wind farms, Allseas is uniquely positioned to lead this revolution. Our flagship vessel, Pioneering Spirit, the world’s most powerful heavy lift and construction vessel, can remove or install entire platforms in a single lift, setting new standards for safety, speed and sustainability.
Since 2016, the department has contributed to a total lifted weight of 330,000 tonnes, with a record-breaking 123,000 tonnes in 2022. With an order book of more than 30 assets, Allseas continues to drive the transition of offshore infrastructure in the North Sea and beyond.
