Job Description
As a Learning & Development Crew Specialist, your mission is to ensure that all crew members on our vessels receive the right training at the right time – no matter where in the world they are. This role is all about planning, organizing, and following up – not about designing or delivering training yourself.
What are the tasks of the L&D Crew Specialist?
As an L&D Crew Consultant, your tasks will include (but are not limited to) the following:
- You plan and coordinate mandatory training courses for crew members worldwide, for the vessels and crew assigned to you.
- You ensure that all crew certifications remain valid and compliant with applicable regulations.
- You act as the first point of contact for any training-related questions from crew and colleagues.
- You work with internal and external experts to keep training programmes up to date – but you are not responsible for creating training content yourself.
- You proactively identify training needs in close cooperation with supervisors.
- You collect feedback from crew after training sessions and monitor training quality.
- You occasionally visit vessels worldwide to maintain strong relationships with the vessel management teams.
- You also visit training providers across the globe to ensure training quality and build strong partnerships.
- You support administrative colleagues in the processing and follow-up of crew certificates
Important note: This is not a training design or delivery role. If you are looking to create or give training sessions yourself, this position may not be the right fit. We are looking for someone who thrives on logistics, planning, and global coordination
Education & Experience
To be successful in the role of L&D Crew Consultant, you should recognize yourself largely in the following profile:
- Planning, organizing and keeping the overview is your strong suit!
- Preferably, you hold a Bachelor / MBO degree (or you obtained a similar level by experience)
- Eather way, you have some proven work experience where planning and organizing was important
- You know your way around MS Office in general and more specifically you have a good command of Excel.
- Ocationally, you are willing to travel to our vessels (this will be exceptional)
- You have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken; command of the Dutch language is an asset
- Knowledge of certifications and trainings in the maritime sector is deffinetely an asset (but not a requirement)
