Division Description
Working offshore on one of our vessels means that you are at the heart of the action and taking an active part in shaping the future of the offshore industry. Our offshore crew members are dedicated and determined to get the job done efficiently without losing sight of safety.
The marine crew comprises three main teams: nautical, technical and catering. The nautical crew is responsible for sailing the vessel; the technical crew (engineers and mechanics) maintains the installations and equipment on board such as the main engines and electrical plant; the catering crew (cooks and stewards) provides catering and cleaning related services for all crew on board.

Job Description
As Automation Electrician, you are essential to the safe and efficient operation of our vessels’ electrical systems and equipment. You’ll work on offshore projects worldwide, reporting to the Second and First Electrician, and collaborating with a skilled technical team.
Your responsibilities include:
- Act per standing instructions, execute and assist with the administration of maintenance, troubleshooting
and commissioning of automation systems; - Understand the plant process and system behaviour and implement software and configuration changes in
line with applicable work methods; - Analyse system behaviour by trending and data analysis;
- Configure industrial networks system;
- Collect and organise system improvements and bug reports in a centralised manner;
- Participate in work safety and act according Allseas safety standards as per AIMS;
Depending on your seniority, the following tasks may also be applicable:
- Deal with larger and more complex systems (such as TLS, JLS, tensioner etc.) that require more interfacing with other (shore based)
disciplines. In this role, he/she will: - Align with the Control, Automation and Monitoring Unit and apply the applicable development procedures
and software tools available to develop and maintain automation systems in order to: - Keep compliance with regulatory bodies such as Lloyd’s
- Maintain traceability, version control and relevant documentation
- Maximise regression testing and make use of all available (virtual) test facilities.
- Coach Junior Automation Electricians and be responsible for organising their work on complex systems.
Qualifications & Experience
To succeed as an Automation Electrician you should recognize yourself largely in the following;
- You hold a Bachelor in Industrial Electronic and Automation Engineering or Electronics and Electrical Engineering with
Automatic Control or Electronic Information Engineering or Process and Control Systems or equivalent
competences; - You have basic scripting experience in Python, PowerShell, Visual Basic or equivalent;
- You are fluent in English;
- You have a professional proficiency with common industrial programming languages (familiarity with Siemens Automation Systems
will be considered a plus); - You have basic understanding of network topology and protocols;
- You have good understanding of electrical drawings (single line, loop diagrams);
- You have sufficient working experience in the Automation field;
- You completed external safety/trade training as per company’s training matrix;
- You have a minimum of 2 years’ experience on board DP offshore construction vessels / license electro technical rating;
STCW III/6.
Certifications
- Medical certificate (or equivalent)
- Offshore survival
- Certificate of Competence (or equivalent)
