Division Description

Working offshore on one of our vessels means that you are at the heart of the action and taking an active part in shaping the future of the offshore industry. Our offshore crew members are dedicated and determined to get the job done efficiently without losing sight of safety.

The marine crew comprises three main teams: nautical, technical and catering. The nautical crew is responsible for sailing the vessel; the technical crew (engineers and mechanics) maintains the installations and equipment on board such as the main engines and electrical plant; the catering crew (cooks and stewards) provides catering and cleaning related services for all crew on board.

Department Description

The Technical - Engineers Department onboard Allseas’ vessels is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and repair of all mechanical systems on the vessel. This team of skilled engineers and technicians ensures the reliability and efficiency of engines, power generation systems, propulsion systems, and other critical machinery.

Job Description

As Third Engineer ER, you are essential to the safe and efficient operation of our vessels’ engine room systems and installations. You will work on offshore projects worldwide, reporting to the Second Engineer ER and Chief Engineer, and collaborating closely with a skilled technical team.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Perform independent watch keeping duties & maintenance jobs under supervision of Second Engineer
  • Execute maintenance and repairs on equipment
  • Diagnose faults, implement corrective actions, and document the results
  • Remain in engine room or control room during DP operations under special conditions or at arrival/departure as instructed by Second Engineer
  • Perform duties as indicated on station bill and perform ship security duties
  • Perform accurate duty rounds and equipment inspections in ER spaces as instructed by Second ER Engineer
  • Actively participate in the handover as per standing orders
  • Supporting operations during pipelay, construction and offshore activities by ensuring engine room reliability
  • You will also have the authority to stop the job if safety or compliance is at risk, in line with the Allseas Integrated Management System.

Qualifications & Experience

  • STCW III/1 – Officer in Charge Engineering Watch
  • Mandatory basic safety certificates
  • Minimum 3 years general engine room experience
  • Knowledge of pipelay equipment
  • A2 level in English, verbally and in writing
  • Computer literacy and ability to interpret technical manuals and drawings

Certifications

  • Medical certificate (or equivalent)
  • Offshore survival
  • Certificate of Competence (or equivalent)
  • BOSIET (INCL. CA-EBS)
  • HUET - Helicopter Underwater Escape Training
