As Country Finance Lead for Australia, it is your responsibility to handle the finance and accounting function from A to Z in line with the corporate standards and complying with local accounting and tax regulations and provide HR support and payroll service, also in line with corporate standards and in support of the local office management.

Allseas Australian branch: Allseas Marine Contractors Australia Pty Ltd.

Your main tasks consist of both finance (about 80%) and HR tasks (about 20%):

Job Description

Conduct all activities and tasks in accordance with Allseas’ corporate objectives.
Familiarise with and comply to Allseas’ management system.
Ensure understanding and implementation of Allseas corporate policies and requirements of the management, adapted to the local labour law.
Act as expert resource on country specific laws, rules, regulation and business practices.

Statutory and taxes:

  • Manage all statutory financial matters, including external audits and local tax matters (BAS – GST / PAYG, FBT, TPAR)
  • Be the full owner of the financial statements and notes for the legal entities according to local GAAP
  • Prepare and book the corporate tax provisions and accruals
  • Follow up on VAT/GST/sales tax and other local tax declarations, tax unities where applicable and filling of relevant tax returns
  • Be the first line of support regarding tax matters with the local tax authorities, coordination with Tax department (ATO, ASIC, ABS, State Revenue Office – WA & VIC).


G/L Accounting:

  • Perform the quarterly closing tasks respecting the deadlines to produce a trial balance
  • Accounting for intercompany cash transfers
  • Prepare intercompany invoices and control balances
  • Fixed assets accounting including construction in progress and depreciation posting and reconciliation. The fixed assets are minor local office assets, as the operating business assets are owned by other Group companies
  • Payroll and payroll related monthly reporting responsibility. For example, Single touch reporting through an external payroll agency, payroll tax, superannuation, etc.
  • Payroll year end reconciliation (PAYG Reconciliation)
  • Prepare specifics control documents (accounts specifications) and check the accuracy of the trial balance
  • Report the trial balance in OneStream for corporate consolidation within deadlines and ensure quality of reported data under group accounting standards.
  • Support the Group Consolidation team
  • Maintain close collaboration with the Accounts Payable team, providing guidance, support, and coordination to ensure smooth end-to-end accounting processes

Human Resources:

  • Monthly HR/Payroll reporting;
  • Run the payroll using local software solution (using external payroll agency);
  • Support and advise Management and relevant departments on employee related personnel matters;
  • Maintain contacts with various governmental agencies, like State Revenue Office (WA & VIC), departments of labour, immigration, etc;
  • Maintain contact with visa agent and assist with obtaining visas for employees;
  • Be the main point of contact for all finance issues with expats;
  • Interact with HQ in relation to HR matters.

Education & Experience

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Minimum 5 year’s experience in a similar position in an international or group structure
  • Hands-on mentality and common sense
  • CPA or equivalent
  • Proficiency in SAP 4/HANA and Microsoft 365 suite
  • High level in writing and speaking in English
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, with ability to set priorities and work with deadlines
  • Work experience relating to computation and accounting for relevant taxes
  • Experience with Australian Payroll processes
