Division Description

Working offshore on one of our vessels means that you are at the heart of the action and taking an active part in shaping the future of the offshore industry. Our offshore crew members are dedicated and determined to get the job done efficiently without losing sight of safety.

The marine crew comprises three main teams: nautical, technical and catering. The nautical crew is responsible for sailing the vessel; the technical crew (engineers and mechanics) maintains the installations and equipment on board such as the main engines and electrical plant; the catering crew (cooks and stewards) provides catering and cleaning related services for all crew on board.

Department Description

The Technical - Deck Engineers Department onboard Allseas’ vessels is responsible for the maintenance and operation of all deck machinery and equipment. This team of specialised engineers ensures the functionality and reliability of cranes, winches, hydraulic systems, and other essential deck machinery. They perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimise downtime and ensure safe operations.

Job Description

As a Third Engineer Deck, you will be working on offshore projects worldwide, reporting to the First Engineer Deck/Shift Leader Deck of the vessel.

You will be responsible for the deck equipment, and you will trouble shoot and service the hydraulic systems that power various deck machinery, you will support the team during pipelay and heavy lift operations. You will be working closely with other crew members, including engineers, electricians and riggers. You are part of the organisation leading the offshore pipelay market and therefore learn all about offshore pipe-laying, heavy lift and our support vessels activities.

Qualifications & Experience

To be successful as Third Engineer Deck at Allseas, it is important that you recognise yourself in the below. You have:

  • Completed a maritime education in Engineering.

  • A minimum 3 years’ experience as a Third Engineer or higher.

  • Valid Engineer Officer of the Watch Certificate of Competency (CoC).

  • The required, valid certificates for the position according STCW 2010 amendments.

  • A valid; Passport, Seaman’s book, seafarers medical.

  • Good command of the English language (both written and spoken).

  • Experience with deck equipment, such as; winches, deck cranes, lifesaving appliances, compressed air systems and hydraulic systems.

Certifications

  • Medical certificate (or equivalent)
  • Offshore survival
  • Certificate of Competence (or equivalent)
