About Allseas
Division Description
Department Description
Are you an inventive Mechanical Engineer who thrives on turning ideas into reality? Do you enjoy designing innovative equipment from a blank sheet of paper and seeing your creations perform in the real world?
At Allseas, we develop much of our highly specialized offshore equipment in-house. From pipeline installation systems and subsea construction equipment to advanced heavy-lift solutions, our engineers work on challenges that simply do not exist anywhere else.
As a Mechanical Engineer in our R&D team in Eindhoven, you will play a key role in developing next-generation custom-built machinery. Unlike many engineering positions, your work does not stop at the design stage. You will be actively involved in prototyping, testing, validating and improving your designs, giving you full ownership of the engineering process from concept through commissioning.
Unit Scope
Discipline Description
Job Description
As part of a multidisciplinary R&D environment, you will:
- Design and develop innovative custom-built machinery and mechanical systems from scratch;
- Translate concepts into practical, robust engineering solutions;
- Perform calculations, simulations, analyses and technical evaluations;
- Participate in and lead design reviews, brainstorming sessions and technical problem-solving workshops;
- Validate designs through testing and experimentation;
- Work closely with colleagues from different engineering disciplines to bring new technologies to life;
- Take ownership of projects throughout the entire lifecycle, from initial concept to commissioning and operational deployment.
This is a role for engineers who want to create, innovate and experiment, not just produce drawings.
Education & Experience
You are naturally curious, technically creative and comfortable working in an environment where priorities can evolve quickly. You enjoy solving complex engineering challenges and are excited by the idea of developing technology that has never existed before.
In addition, you have:
- A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field;
- Approximately 5 years of experience in the development of custom-built machinery;
- Strong 3D design skills, preferably with Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD software;

- A hands-on mindset and an interest in testing and validating your own designs;
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to explain and defend technical decisions.
